VEVS alternative
A VEVS alternative, built by someone who runs rentals.
If VEVS is not quite fitting anymore, here is a straight look at where it is strong, where it pinches, and what moving actually involves. No trash talk.
What VEVS does well
VEVS is an established rental platform and it runs plenty of fleets. It covers online bookings, a website, and the core rental workflow out of the box, which is why a lot of operators start there.
Where it tends to pinch
The complaints I hear from NZ operators are usually about the local detail and the pace of change. GST, bonds and NZ compliance dates that feel bolted on rather than native. Support hours that do not line up with your morning. And the sense that you are waiting on a global roadmap for something specific to how you work.
Why Glovebox is different
I did not set out to build a VEVS competitor. I set out to run my own fleet without fighting my booking software. Glovebox is built in New Zealand, for NZ rules, and when I need a feature I add it, because I am the one using it at 7am on a pickup. You get an operator who answers, not a ticket queue.
What switching looks like
I map your VEVS setup, move your fleet, rates and history across, and wire the booking widget into your existing site. Both systems run side by side until the new one has handled real bookings cleanly. Then you switch off VEVS on your own timeline. Book a 15-minute call and I will tell you honestly whether a move is worth it for you.

Questions
The things operators actually ask.
Close, for the parts most NZ operators use: online bookings, deposits, bonds, fleet, invoicing and a booking widget for your site. I map your setup first so nothing important gets lost in the move.
No. I bring your fleet, rates and past bookings across as part of the migration, and keep VEVS running until the new system is proven.
Glovebox has a free tier, so the software itself can start at nothing. Migration and any site work is quoted upfront once I have seen your setup. Integrations and website work start from around $3k.
